Andy Kowl, SVP of publishing strategy for ePublishing, Inc., writes in Publishing Executive about Russell Glass, founder of Bizo and known as the "king of B2B banner ads". Bizo was bought out by LinkedIn 2 years ago. Now, Mr. Glass is head of marketing products for LinkedIn.
That is not to say that banner ads are the future of LinkedIn's marketing efforts. Glass admits that in today's environment, display ads are 1/10 as effective as native or sponsored content. Using the right tools and the right time, he is focusing LinkedIn'sefforts on mobile apps, sponsored content and targeting within apps.
